A Message From the Principal
Dear Owyhee Families,
All those April showers should definitely bring some May flowers. The rain may have delayed the start of the first track meet last week; however, our students still found a way to practice. Now that is perseverance! Our 5/6th grade students are feeling ready to compete and we look forward to cheering them on this week. Please see the calendar below for specific dates and times.
Over the course of the next 7 weeks your child will be participating in end of year state and district assessments. Your children have been working hard all year and this is the time when they will get to put into practice all that they have learned this year. We do encourage our families to work with your children to ensure they get a good night’s rest and eat a well-balanced breakfast. Students are welcome to eat breakfast on site as early as 8:15. Please check with your child’s classroom teacher regarding specific assessment dates and times your child will be testing.
As many of you are aware, our enrollment numbers continue to fluctuate meaning we may see some upcoming changes to programs and staffing for next year. I will continue to keep our Owyhee families informed as I learn more.
With the end of the year approaching, our team will be packing up the school to allow the contractors to begin working, May 24th. This means our building will begin looking a little more bare in the hallways and classrooms with a few more boxes accumulated in the corner of the classrooms.
When we return in the fall, we will have new ceilings and lights throughout the classrooms and hallways. New projectors will be installed in the classrooms for those who did not receive one this current school year. The building will have a new roof, transforming the overall appearance of the building with an updated look. While packing is never easy, we are excited for the project to be completed this coming school year!
Thank you for your continued support!
Dr. David
